Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming service is now available through Microsoft Edge, enabling Xbox owners to play PC games on their consoles, although Death Stranding is a notable exception.

As of today, GeForce Now includes beta support for the Microsoft Edge browser, meaning Xbox players can stream PC games to their consoles.

However, having tested out the service on Xbox, Verge reporter Tom Warren reports that Death Stranding isn’t available, likely due to contractual agreements about where and how the game can be played.

Death Stranding is the debut game from Kojima Productions. Sony published the title for PS4 in 2019, before 505 Games brought it to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in July 2020. Last month, Sony also released Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PS5.

GeForce Now includes access to over 1,000 PC games. The Edge browser on Xbox also supports mouse and keyboard input, enabling users to play some games that don’t even have controller support.

Hideo Kojima has previously expressed a desire to explore a “new format of game” enabled by cloud platforms, and Microsoft is said to be in advanced talks about publishing a new game from the Metal Gear Solid creator.
