Xbox releases an extended 18 minute Fable gameplay demonstration
Xbox has revealed 18 minutes of Fable gameplay footage ahead of the 2027 release

Xbox has revealed 18 minutes of Fable gameplay footage via the ongoing Gamescom event.
The demonstration video features Playground Games art director Conar Cross narrating the new gameplay. We see the game’s hero exploring the capital of Bowerstone, visiting an owned house where their spouse and child live, and much more.
The video reveals a lot of new information. For example, 400 NPCs live in Bowerstone, and they all have their own homes, hobbies, traits, personalities, and are fully voiced. You will be able to talk to and interact with all of them.
The demonstration also shows us The Last of the Greats, an in-game quest featuring Humphry the Golden.
Xbox Wire has also elaborated on Fable’s combat mechanics. The Strength, Skill, and Will system returns from the original games in a new form, meaning players will still use familiar melee, magic, and ranged attack types.
They’ve also revealed a list of spells they were able to test: Fireball, Lightning, Blade, Lift, Rush, Push, and Befowl.
For more, watch the full gameplay demonstration for yourself.
Fable is set to launch February 23, 2027, after it was delayed to 2027 because of concerns over GTA 6.
