Xbox One Summer Game Fest event will offer over 60 game demos
Unreleased titles will be playable for one week in late July
Microsoft has announced details of the upcoming Summer Games Fest Xbox One demo event.
From July 21- 27, over 60 demos for unreleased games will be available to sample through a Game Fest Demo tile on the Xbox One dashboard.
While 60+ demos have been confirmed, ID@Xbox senior product marketing manager Glenn Gregory told Xbox Wire the number could be much larger by the time the event begins.
“We’ll have a lot of games – somewhere between 75 and 100 when the dust settles”, he said.
Gregory also said they will not be the type of demos usually offered for Xbox One games.
“Many of these demos are early, and some are for games that won’t be out for quite some time… In other words, think of these as akin to ‘show floor demos’ and not necessarily indicative of the final product.”
While a full demo list will be announced closer to the event’s launch, confirmed games include Cris Tales, Destroy All Humans!, Haven, Hellpoint, Skatebird, The Vale: Shadow of the Crown, Raji: An Ancient Epic, and Welcome to Elk.
Steam showcased over 40 pre-release PC game demos in March as part of the Steam Game Festival, which returned again in June.
