Xbox live stream promises “huge updates” on Tuesday

An Inside Xbox live stream will offer “huge updates” on Project xCloud on Tuesday, September 24, Microsoft has confirmed.

Additionally, the broadcast will include the latest information on X019, “the annual global celebration of all things Xbox” taking place in London from November 14-16, plus Game Pass news and a preview of The Outer Worlds.

The broadcast will begin at 11pm BST (6pm ET/3pm PT) and be streamed across various online platforms including YouTube and Mixer. You can watch it live here.

Sony will also be hosting a PlayStation State of Play live stream on Tuesday. Set to air at 1pm PT/4pm ET/9pm BST, the 20-minute episode won’t include PS5 news, but will feature The Last of Us Part II alongside other new game reveals and content from PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios.

Microsoft plans to launch a preview version of its Project xCloud game streaming service in October.

It will “open the world of Xbox to those who may not otherwise own traditional, dedicated gaming hardware”, Kareem Choudhry, CVP of gaming cloud at Microsoft, said of the platform in March.

“True console-quality gaming will become available on mobile devices, providing the two billion-plus gamers around the world a new gateway to previously console and PC exclusive content,” he added.

To illustrate the point, Microsoft used an Inside Xbox stream to demo Forza Horizon 4 running on xCloud hardware in a date centre, streamed to an Android phone attached to an Xbox One controller via Bluetooth.
