Turtle Rock shows off its Left 4 Dead spiritual successor Back 4 Blood
Closed alpha launches next week ahead of June 2021 release
Turtle Rock Studios revealed its Left 4 Dead spiritual successor Back 4 Blood at The Game Awards on Thursday.
Little had been heard about the co-op zombie shooter since its announcement in March 2019, but two trailers were shown at tonight’s event.
Players can register now for the chance to start playing a closed alpha on December 17 ahead of the game’s release on June 22, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
“We wanted to do more and bigger,” Chris Ashton, co-founder and design director at Turtle Rock, said on stage at The Game Awards.
“We wanted to have more playable characters, more mission, more story, but we also wanted to have a bigger variety of zombies, so now we’ve got these 20-foot tall zombie monstrosities that are definitely going to take the help of your friends to defeat.”
