Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 remasters announced
Coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in September
Activision will release remastered versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 on September 4, 2020.
Developed by Vicarious Visions (Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy), the games will be released in one package for Xbox One, PS4 and PC through the Epic Games Store.
It will include all the maps, skaters and songs from the original games, plus features included in later series entries such as revert, lip tricks and wall plant. Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes will return alongside original online and local multiplayer game modes.
The game will carry a suggested retail price of $39.99. A digital deluxe version including unique content and in-game gear will cost $49.99, while a collector’s edition featuring a limited-run Birdhouse deck will be priced at $99.99.
Digital pre-orders will come with early access to the Warehouse Demo ahead of the game’s official launch.
“The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is a big factor in the evolution of modern skateboarding tricks and inspiring many of the pro skaters you know and love today,” said Tony Hawk. “I’m excited to help inspire a new generation of skateboarders and gamers – and existing fans – to grow the sport even further.”
“Getting the chance to bring back the original two games which had such a meaningful impact not only on gaming, but on an entire sports genre, has been an epic experience for our team, many of whom worked on the original series,” said Jen Oneal, studio head at Vicarious Visions.
“We’re taking what you knew and loved from the original games and mixing that with enhanced creative tools which will allow gamers to invent brand new ways to play the game they love. We’re confident it will be the ultimate Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater experience fans have been asking for.”
Earlier this month, Activision teased plans to release two unannounced games based on existing IP later this year.
