The Skywalker Saga has smashed Lego’s Steam user record by 1200%
The previous record was held by Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has had a strong first day on Steam, destroying the previous record for concurrent players on any Lego game on the service.
The game was released on Tuesday and within just two hours had reached a peak of 82,517 concurrent users, briefly placing it higher than some regular Steam favourites such as Team Fortress 2, Rainbow Six Siege and Football Manager 2022.
This completely eclipses the previous peak for concurrent Steam users on a Lego game, which was achieved by Lego Marvel Super Heroes when it hit 5,953 users eight years ago.
This new peak for The Skywalker Saga marks an increase of more than 1200% over that previous record.
The ten Lego games with the highest peak concurrent users on Steam are now as follows:
- Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (82,517)
- Lego Marvel Super Heroes (5,953)
- Lego The Hobbit (5,550)
- The Lego Ninjago Movie Videogame (5,434)
- Lego The Lord of the Rings (5,045)
- Lego Worlds (4,911)
- Lego Jurassic World (3,498)
- Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2,586)
- Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (2,186)
- Lego Marvel’s Avengers (2,112)
Given that the game was only released yesterday it’s still too early to tell how well its initial sales have gone, but a record like this will be welcomed by publisher Warner Bros Games and developer TT Games.
VGC’s Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga review called it “one of the best Star Wars games ever”.
“Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga treats Star Wars as well, if not better, than any iteration of the franchise in history,” our critic Jordan Middler wrote.
“It’s incredibly devoted to fans from all generations, it’s genuinely hilarious and the gameplay changes elevate what would have already been an excellent tribute to the biggest Sci-Fi franchise ever into an excellent game.”
