The original Fire Emblem is coming West for the first time, but it will only be available for Switch until March 2021
The RPG will be removed from sale after four months
The original Fire Emblem is being localised for release in the West for the first time.
Nintendo will release Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light for Switch via the eShop on December 4 priced at $5.99.
However, like Super Mario 3D All-Stars, the game will only be on sale for a limited time. It will be available until the end of the franchise’s 30th anniversary on March 31, 2021.
A US Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition will also be available at select retailers at a suggested price of $49.99.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light is a tactical RPG which follows the adventures of Prince Marth.
“Throughout Marth’s perilous journey, players can shape their armies to execute a range of strategies by carefully selecting from dozens of characters with unique attributes that can turn the tide of every battlefield skirmish,” Nintendo says.
“Will Marth be able to acquire the sacred Falchion sword and obtain the mystical Fire Emblem on his epic expedition to restore peace to the Kingdom of Archanea?”
The upcoming eShop release will include features like rewind, fast forward and save states.
