The Epic Games Store’s next free title has been announced

Next week’s free Epic Games Store title has been revealed.

Detective adventure puzzle game Tales of the Neon Sea, from developer Palm Pioneer and publisher Thermite Games, will be free to download from April 1-8.

It will replace Creature in the Well, a top-down, pinball-inspired, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler from developer Flight School Studio and publisher
MWM Interactive.

Creature in the Well normally costs £11.99 but is currently free to download until April 1.

Epic claimed in January that the Epic Games Store had attracted over 160 million PC users since launching in December 2018.

The company has been giving away free titles on a weekly basis since the marketplace launched, including 103 games in 2020, collectively worth $2,407 based on US prices. Epic said users claimed over 749 million free titles last year.

Last week Epic outlined its vision for the future of social features on the Epic Games Store, including details about its party system, which is “coming soon”.

“We want to transform the Epic Games Store into a place where you can connect with your friends across platforms, effortlessly jump into parties with voice chat, and play games together without missing a beat,” it said.
