The Blood of Dawnwalker studio is already looking for a lead writer to start work on the sequel
“We’re already thinking about what comes next,” the game’s narrative director says
Plans for the sequel to The Blood of Dawnwalker are already underway, according to one of the game’s leads.
It’s no surprise that The Blood of Dawnwalker studio Rebel Wolves wanted to make a sequel to the game – when it was announced back in October 2024 that Bandai Namco would be publishing the game, it was introduced as the first entry in the Dawnwalker saga.
Sequel plans usually require some degree of success before they can go ahead, however, and with The Blood of Dawnwalker already selling a million copies, it seems that Rebel Wolves is keen to get going on the second game right away.
In a message posted on his LinkedIn page, the game’s narrative director Jakub Szamalek said the studio was looking to hire a Lead Writer to help with the sequel’s storyline.
“The Blood of Dawnwalker released to critical acclaim and sold over one million copies in the opening weekend,” Szamalek wrote. “But we’re not resting on our laurels – no, siree! We’re already thinking about comes next.
“And so! Drum roll please! I’m looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.
“We’re looking for someone who, to put it bluntly, writes exceptionally well, has a track record of excellence and experience in team management. If you meet these criteria, please apply via the link.”
VGC’s review of The Blood of Dawnwalker praised the game, saying the studio’s team of The Witcher 3 veterans proved that “a focused RPG beats a bloated one”.
“The Blood of Dawnwalker is a fantastic first outing from Rebel Wolves and the clear start of a franchise,” we wrote.
“It’s full of smart ideas that have the making of another classic RPG franchise. Poor performance and the central time mechanics let The Blood of Dawnwalker down somewhat, but it’s a game I’d wholly recommend to Witcher fanatics and vampire lovers alike.”
