Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition shadow drops on Nintendo systems for $19.99
The 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider has been released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
In a surprise ‘shadow drop’, the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is now available on the Nintendo eShop, at a price of $19.99 (with a 10% launch discount until November 24).
The Definitive Edition includes all the previous downloadable content released for the game, including six outfits for Lara Croft, eight multiplayer maps and four multiplayer characters.
It also includes digital versions of the Tomb Raider: The Beginning comic from Dark Horse, the art book Tomb Raider: The Art of Survival and the developer video series The Final Hours of Tomb Raider.
Players who own the digital Switch version of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will get a 10% discount on the price of the reboot, while players who own Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered will get a further 10%.
With the introductory discount also available until November 24, this means a total discount of up to 30% is available, bringing the total price to $13.99.
“Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is the award-winning cinematic action-adventure that tells Lara Croft’s emotional journey from an inexperienced young woman into a hardened survivor – with a stunningly lifelike world to explore,” the game’s official description reads.
“Endure high-octane combat, customize weapons and gear, and overcome grueling environments to survive Lara’s first adventure.”
The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot was critically acclaimed, with a Metacritic score of 86-87 depending on format. It was followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018.
