Take-Two reiterates that it predicts $8 billion in net bookings this fiscal year thanks to GTA 6
Rockstar’s parent company is predicting its biggest net bookings ever
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches in just a few months, and publisher Take-Two anticipates a healthy profit for the fiscal year.
In a recent investor call, it was revealed that Take-Two’s net bookings for the last quarter were $1.39 billion, above the company’s expectations. This is the same quarter where GTA 6 pre-orders became available.
Additionally, Take-Two said it still expects total net bookings for Fiscal Year 2027 to exceed $8 billion, largely thanks to the launch of GTA 6. Net bookings for FY 2026 were $6.7 billion, so this represents a significant leap.
Elsewhere in Take-Two’s earnings presentations, the company declared that an unannounced title from a third-party developer has been cancelled, which incurred a $43 million impairment charge. Upcoming titles including Judas and Project Ethos are still on track, but with unconfirmed release dates.
In a press release, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick shared the following statement: “Our excellent first quarter results reflect the power of our portfolio and disciplined execution across all of our labels.
“With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion.
“Looking further ahead, we expect to sustain this new level of scale and generate strong cash flows, setting us on a path to deliver continued growth and long-term shareholder returns.”
The presentation also confirms that GTA 5 has now sold more than 230 million units to date, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 87 million.
