The NPD Group is expected to shed further light on the performance of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S when it releases its monthly sales report later on Friday.
UPDATE: PS5 was November’s top-selling hardware platform in terms of overall consumer spending. Sony’s console enjoyed the highest launch month of any gaming hardware platform in both unit and dollar sales.
“We continue to see unprecedented demand for Nintendo Switch, and we are pleased that people of all ages and gaming skill levels will be experiencing Nintendo Switch this holiday and beyond,” Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s senior VP of sales and marketing, said in a prepared statement.
Switch recently recorded the second-highest October sales for any game console in US history, bettered only by the Wii in 2008.
Switch has sold 6.92 million units in the US in the first 11 months of the year, which is 426,000 more than it managed during the same period in 2019, according to Nintendo.
A Nintendo Switch update released this month introduced the ability to transfer screenshots and videos wirelessly to smart devices, or via USB connection to a computer.
