Sayonara Wild Hearts’ Simogo announces partnership with Annapurna
Future Simogo projects will be published by AI
Sayonara Wild Hearts developer Simogo has signed a multi-year deal with the game’s publisher Annapurna Interactive that will see the pair continue working together “for the foreseeable future.”
In a blog post published on Tuesday, Simogo said the partnership means that future Simogo projects will be published by Annapurna, and said it will now be able to do things that “aren’t possible for us to make by ourselves.”
“After having worked together with our good friends at Annapurna Interactive on Sayonara Wild Hearts for quite some time, we realized that we really enjoyed making games together. So, we have agreed to continue to do so for the foreseeable future,” Simogo said in a statement.
“We’re still going to be independent good old Simogo here in Malmö, but just with a little more possibilities, and less compromises.”
It added: “It also means that we can work even more regularly with the composers and artists we already love to work with.
“It could, to sum it up, mean a lot of new fun and unexpected stuff for us, and you, in the future. It’s going to be wild and wonderful, and we hope you’ll be here to take the journey with us.”
Annapurna Interactive president Nathan Gary told GI.biz that the company is “excited to enter into the next phase of our partnership and explore the amazing experiences we can build together-anything is possible.”
Annapurna Interactive was named VGC’s 2019 Games Publisher of the Year.
The Hollywood company has released a host of critically acclaimed titles since it was established three years ago, including What Remains of Edith Finch, Florence and Outer Wilds.
