Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for Nintendo Switch.

The latest entries in the mainline series of Pokémon RPGs will launch on Nintendo’s home console in late 2019.

Developed by Game Freak, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are set in the Galar region, which you can see in the first trailer for the games, below. Starter Pokémon include curious grass-type chimp Grookey, energetic fire-type rabbit Scorbunny, and stealthy water-type lizard Sobble.

The titles were announced by Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, during a Nintendo Direct presentation.
