Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are discounted by 20% for Black Friday in the UK
Nintendo’s blockbuster Switch games are on sale just a week after release
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are being heavily discounted for Black Friday in the UK.
The latest mainline titles in the Pokémon series were released last week and have broken sales records for publisher Nintendo, while also receiving heavy criticism for performance issues.
UK retailer ShopTo is currently offering Pokémon Scarlet for £39.85 and Pokémon Violet for £39.85, representing 20% discounts on their RRPs.
Alternatively, Amazon is offering Pokémon Scarlet for £41.99 and Pokémon Violet for £41.99, as well as the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet double pack for £83.98 (all three products are 16% off).

When we looked there were no major Pokémon Scarlet and Violet discounts available at US retailers, which were all sticking pretty closely to the $59.99 RRP.
Nintendo claimed on Wednesday that sales of the Nintendo Switch titles surpassed 10 million combined units in the first 72 hours following their worldwide release on November 18, 2022.
“This is the highest global sales level for any software on any Nintendo platform within the first three days,” it said.

VGC’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet review called the games the most feature-rich Pokémon titles in years, but also noted that they were held back by technical issues.
“The huge expansion and changes to the single-player campaign are great, the size of the world and the joy of exploration are the best in the series, and the new Pokemon and battle mechanics introduced all sing,” we wrote. “However, it’s just impossible to shake the thought of how much better the game would feel if it was on more powerful hardware, or simply ran acceptably on Switch.”
