PlayStation State of Play: Where to watch today’s presentations

PlayStation is broadcasting a double-bill of State of Play presentations today.

Announced earlier this week, Sony‘s traditional September live stream, typically held at some point before Tokyo Game Show, takes place today and is being split into two parts this time.

First is a standard State of Play presentation, which will focus on first-party and third-party games coming to PlayStation 5 in the future.

This will then be followed by a State of Play Japan stream, which will specifically focus on Japanese titles, given its proximity to Tokyo Game Show.

Both State of Play presentations can be watched from this very article, via the video embedded at the top of the page. Alternatively, it can be found on the official PlayStation YouTube channel.

The back-to-back presentations will take place today, September 3, at the following time:

• USA (Pacific) – 6am
• USA (Eastern) – 9am
• UK (BST) – 2pm
• Central Europe (CEST) – 3pm
• Japan – 10pm
• Australia (AEST) – 11pm

PlayStation State of Play: What will be announced?

According to Sony, the event will feature “updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners,” which is par for the course for presentations like this.

It has also confirmed that the first State of Play presentation will end with “an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix“.

It may be a bit early to expect a release date from this – that may be more of a Game Awards announcement – but it sounds like a lot of new gameplay will be shown at least.

PlayStation also has Marvel’s Wolverine right around the corner, so expect to see at least a new trailer for this to remind players that it’s nearly here.

Other first-party games currently in development at PlayStation include God of War Laufey, Until Dawn 2, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Fairgames and Horizon Hunters Gathering.

The latter is unlikely to feature, given recent reports that Guerrilla Games is overhauling its Horizon co-op spin-off following poor results in private testing.
