Original Little Nightmares studio Tarsier reveals its new game, Reanimal

Tarsier, the studio behind the first two Little Nightmares titles, has revealed its new game, Reanimal.

A short trailer for the game, which is viewable below, was shown as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live.

“The creators of Little Nightmares return to take you on a darker, more terrifying journey than ever before,” according to an official description for the game. “In this horror adventure, a brother & sister go through hell to rescue their missing friends & escape the island that they used to call home”.

Swedish studio Tarsier was acquired by Embracer Group in December 2019.

At the time of acquisition Tarsier boss Johnsson said: “For the last 6 years, our mission at Tarsier Studios has been to create mesmerizing worlds. Little Nightmares was our first attempt and was a huge success. I personally love how Little Nightmares has gathered fans around the world over the course of the last 4 years.

“From the fan art, extensive fan theories and genuine reactions, it all has been amazing to witness. Our collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has been extremely satisfying, they listened to our creative vision and took our crazy ideas and ambitions to heart.

“Since being acquired by the Embracer Group in December 2019, it is now time for us to embark on a new chapter, create new IPs and explore new worlds. Personally I am very excited to see what our studio creates and counting down the days until we can welcome our fans.”

In VGC’s Little Nightmares 2 review, critic Jon Bailes called the game “a cautiously expansive sequel which expertly paces its shocks and creepy atmosphere.”
