Hell Let Loose, Mortal Kombat X and PGA Tour 2K21
October 2021’s PlayStation Plus games have officially been revealed.
As previously leaked, next month’s PlayStation Plus additions are Hell Let Loose (PS5), Mortal Kombat X (PS4) and PGA Tour 2K21 (PS4). They will be available to download from October 5 until November 1.
September’s PlayStation Plus games are Overcooked! All You Can Eat (PS5), Hitman 2 (PS4) and Predator: Hunting Grounds (PS4). All three are available to redeem until October 4.
Last month, Sony indicated that it’s not concerned about a recent decline in PlayStation Plus subscribers and monthly active users.
For the three months ended June 30, 2021, Sony reported total PS Plus subscribers of 46.3 million, which was up 1.3 million year-on-year but down by over one million compared to the two most recent quarters.
Monthly active users for the quarter totalled 104 million, down from 109 million in the quarter before that and 114 million in the quarter before that one.
Sony’s chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki blamed the decline on last year’s stay-at-home restrictions and the increase they had on game activity.
“Of course, 104 million is not a strong number, but are we looking at it as a declining trend? We don’t think so,” he said. “We are trying to analyse different elements, but there are no conspicuous trends that we can capture. Maybe this month or next month we will have to continue to watch and do an analysis.”
