Nintendo Direct was ‘most tweeted about moment of E3’
Final Fantasy VII Remake also drove conversation on the social media platform
Twitter has revealed the most tweeted about moments, games and publishers of E3.
The Nintendo Direct broadcast, which was used to show off Luigi’s Mansion 3 gameplay, announce a release date for The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and reveal a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel, was the most tweeted about ‘moment’ of the show.
The social media platform also told the Hollywood Reporter that Keanu Reeves’ surprise appearance during the Xbox E3 briefing, when the actor was revealed to be starring in Cyberpunk 2077, was the second most tweeted about moment.
It came in ahead of Square Enix’s livestream, which included new Final Fantasy VII Remake gameplay and the Avengers game reveal.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was the most tweeted about “new game of the convention” followed by Cyberpunk 2077, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and The Avengers.
The most tweeted about game publishers were Nintendo, Xbox, Sony (which didn’t attend E3 for the first time in the event’s 24-year history), Square Enix and Bethesda.
