Nintendo adds Star Fox 2 to Switch Online library
Previously unreleased title joins 5 further additions to SNES and NES games
Nintendo will add six new classic NES and SNES game to Nintendo Switch Online this month, including Star Fox 2.
Star Fox 2 was unreleased on its target platform and only officially became available to players via 2017’s SNES Mini console.
The title will arrive on Nintendo Switch Online on December 12, alongside Super Punch-Out, Kirby Super Star and Breath of Fire II.
The NES Nintendo Switch Online app will be updated on the same day with RPG Crystalis and shooter Journey to Silius.
New NES and SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online will be released “irregularly” going forward, Nintendo has said. Prior to the launch of the SNES library of games for the subscription service, new NES titles were added on a monthly basis.
A library of 20 SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online launched in September. The SNES library includes the rewind feature released for Switch Online’s NES games.
Nintendo has also released SNES-style controllers for Nintendo Switch to use with the new library of titles.
Over 10 million Nintendo account holders have signed up to Nintendo Switch Online since it debuted in September 2018, according to Nintendo.
