New GTA V update adds a motion blur slider for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Rockstar has released a new Grand Theft Auto V title update for consoles.

The headline feature of the patch is the introduction of a motion blur slider for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

The update also addresses a variety of bugs, including fixes for several crashes on all console platforms.

On Xbox Series X/S, the patch targets an issue that resulted in players getting stuck on an alert screen after using Quick Resume, an issue that saw players having no game audio while in an Xbox party, and a fault that meant radio audio was missing.

On PS4 and Xbox One, the update fixes an issue that resulted in players getting stuck on the Rockstar logo screen when booting the game, and an issue that resulted in GTA Online progress not saving.

Originally scheduled to arrive in November 2021 before being delayed late last year, the new-gen versions of GTA V and GTA Online were released digitally in March and physically earlier this month.

Rockstar is currently offering significant launch window discounts on GTA V and GTA Online, most notably on PS5.

The games are available together for $9.99 / £8.75 on the PlayStation Store and $19.99 / £17.49 on the Microsoft Store until June 14.

The new standalone version of GTA Online is also free to download for three months exclusively for PS5 players with a PlayStation Plus subscription. It costs £8.99 / $9.99 for Xbox Series X/S.

Rockstar seemingly removed several jokes from GTA V’s PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases that had previously been deemed transphobic by members of the community.
