New God of War Ragnarök gameplay video reveals dwarven realm Svartalfheim
The Norse sequel will let players visit all of the nine realms
A new God of War Ragnarök gameplay video has offered the first look at the dwarven realm Svartalfheim.
The Game Informer video below provides some insight into how Sony Santa Monica’s level designers brought the realm to life for the upcoming sequel.
While 2018’s God of War included six of the nine realms in Norse mythology, Ragnarök will let players visit them all.
“God of War Ragnarök will take you to the previously unreachable Vanaheim, Svartalfheim, and Asgard – as well as to new areas from locations featured in the last game,” Grace Orlady, lead community manager at Santa Monica Studio, previously told the PlayStation Blog.
“Exploring the realms will take you everywhere from verdant, otherworldly jungles to intricate subterranean mining networks. This next installment in the series will bring you a more diverse, beautiful, and mysterious variety of locations than in any other God of War game.”
Publisher Sony recently announced a God of War Ragnarök release date of November 9, 2022, alongside four editions of the game.
The title was originally planned for release last year, but Sony delayed it to 2022 to help Santa Monica Studio deliver “a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing” of its team.
