Title update 4, which was originally scheduled to launch in May for consoles and PC, is set to introduce “fan-favorite” monster Alatreon.
When the Blazing Black Dragon does arrive at a yet to be announced date, it will be accompanied by new weapons and armour.
“Unfortunately, coronavirus (COVID-19) related impacts on production have made it necessary to postpone the release of the fourth free title update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne,” Capcom said in a blog post.
“Voice over production for the Italian, Spanish and French language versions have also been affected, and will be replaced with simplified recordings.
“We would like to apologize to all of our fans eagerly awaiting Alatreon’s arrival in the New World, and will provide updates once we have new information to share.”
Capcom has updated Iceborne’s content roadmap (pictured below) following the delay and extended the availability of most Monster Hunter World and Iceborne Event Quests “for the foreseeable future”.
Capcom said in March that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne had shipped over five million units worldwide.
It began synchronising Iceborne content releases across consoles and PC beginning in April.
VGC’s 5/5 Monster Hunter World Iceborne review labelled the game “an essential upgrade for hunters craving new monsters, challenges, and gear”.
