Monster Hunter World: Iceborne PS4 betas kick off this week

PlayStation Plus members get first access from Friday

Capcom will hold two Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta tests on PS4 this month.

PS Plus members will be able to sample the action RPG’s upcoming expansion from June 21-23, before all PS4 players get access from June 28-30, the company says.

Capcom has also released a new video, above, providing a tour of the expansion’s key features.

Iceborne includes a new story that begins after the events of Monster Hunter: World, and an amount of content which Capcom says rivals the main game, including new monsters, environments, moves and equipment.

Its main new locale is a snowy, polar stage which Capcom says is the largest region in Monster Hunter World so far.

The $40 add-on requires the base Monster Hunter: World game to play and will release on September 6, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One. A PC release will follow in winter 2019.

Monster Hunter: World is Capcom’s best-selling individual game of all time. The hit action role-playing title has sold 12.4 million copies.
