Minecraft Dungeons closed beta registration now open
Opening cinematic for the game also released
Mojang has opened registration for a Minecraft Dungeons closed beta.
It has also released the opening cinematic for the action-adventure game, which is inspired by classic dungeon crawlers and set in the Minecraft universe.
The game is playable solo or co-op in a group of up to four people. The public first got the opportunity to go hands on with Minecraft Dungeons at Gamescom in August.
There’s no confirmed date for the closed beta, but you can register to participate here. You’ll need a Microsoft account to do so, as is the case with the ongoing Minecraft Earth beta.
Minecraft Dungeons is coming to PC, consoles and Xbox Game Pass. It will debut in spring 2020.
Minecraft attracts over 112 million players every month, publisher Microsoft said in mid-September.
Rather than developing a full-blown Minecraft sequel, Microsoft has said its primary concern is keeping the existing community happy with updates to the 10-year-old game, while expanding the franchise with spin-offs such as Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Earth.
