In a blog post detailing the biggest games that are set to be released in 2024, both Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill are listed, with a disclaimer at the bottom of the blog reading: “All featured titles scheduled for release in 2024 at the time of publication.”
While neither title has a firm release date, this is the strongest suggestion so far that both remakes could be released in 2024.
Originally reported on by VGC and eventually confirmed during a PlayStation Showcase last year, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, which is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles and PC.
Konami describes the title as “a faithful remake”. “A new generation of players and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed Big Boss, and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater,” it said.
Konami has also confirmed that neither Hideo Kojima nor Kojima Productions is involved in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
The Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Bloober Team, was announced in 2022, however, there has been little update since then. The studio recently asked that fans be patient as it continues to work on the game.
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said back in March 2023 that development of its Silent Hill 2 remake was “close” to being completed. “Silent Hill 2 is technically ready,” Babieno said in an interview at the time. “It does not mean that the game is finished, but we are close.
“However, the issue of the release schedule lies with our partners. What the promotion will look like and when the title will debut is not directly in our hands.”
