Mario Tennis Fever coming next year for Nintendo Switch 2
The game will feature 38 playable characters, the most in the series’ history.

Mario Tennis Fever has been announced for Nintendo Switch 2.
Announced during Friday’s Nintendo Direct, the game is the latest in the Mario Tennis franchise.
Mario Tennis Fever will be released on February 12 and include new equipment known as Fever Rackets, which are super-powered tennis rackets.
Some of the fever rackets announced during the trailer included the Shadow Racket, which can duplicate players, the Ice Racket, which will freeze parts of the court, causing players to slow down, and the Mini Mushroom Racket, which shrinks enemies.
The game will feature 38 playable characters, the most in the series’ history, according to Nintendo. Playable characters include Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Pauline, Donkey Kong, Luma, Toadette and more.
Mario Tennis Fever will feature a new adventure mode, as well as online play. In the adventure mode, the cast are turned into their baby versions by a mysterious force, and must work together in order to return to normal.
Mario Tennis Fever was announced alongside a raft of other Mario announcements to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series, including Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The two-game collection will be released physically on October 2 to mark the Super Mario series’ 40th anniversary, Nintendo announced during a Nintendo Direct on Friday. The two titles will also be available separately digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
