Mario Party 1 and 2 are the next N64 games coming to Switch Online
Both games will be added to the service on the same day in November
Nintendo has announced that Mario Party and Mario Party 2 are the next games set to be added to Switch Online’s Nintendo 64 library.
Both games will be added to the service on the same day – Wednesday, November 2.
Although it wasn’t the first video game take on board games, Mario Party is credited with redefining the ‘party’ genre with its eight detailed boards, 50 mini-games and support for up to four players.

Mario Party 2 featured six new boards, each dressing the characters up in costumes, as well as 65 mini-games.
When they come to Switch Online next month, Mario Party and Mario Party 2 will bring the total list of N64 games on Switch Online up to 21, following the addition of Pilotwings 64 in October, Wave Race 64 in August and Pokémon Puzzle League in July.
Once they’re added, the full list of N64 titles on the service will be as follows:
- Dr Mario 64
- F-Zero X
- Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Mario Golf
- Mario Kart 64
- Mario Party
- Mario Party 2
- Mario Tennis
- Paper Mario
- Pilotwings 64
- Pokémon Puzzle League
- Pokémon Snap
- Sin & Punishment
- Star Fox 64
- Super Mario 64
- Wave Race 64
- Yoshi’s Story
Switch Online’s Expansion Pack tier launched in October 2021 alongside a library of Nintendo 64 games. This was initially met with frustration from some players, due to emulation issues and a lack of features including button mapping.
However, regular updates to the service have seen the emulation improve, and now most major issues have been remedied.
The nature of emulation does mean each new game brings it potential new problems though – Pilotwings 64 was added to the service earlier this month, and it’s been discovered that its Birdman stage is much harder to play due to the improved frame rate.
