Mario Kart World gets a free update today adding 10 classic SNES tracks and two more Knockout Tours

Mario Kart World is getting another free update today, this time adding 10 new tracks.
The new update adds 10 new courses to the game, taken from the original SNES Super Mario Kart game.
The 10 courses, which Nintendo says have been “hiding in plain sight” ever since the game was released, can now be selected in VS Race mode.
The tracks include Choco Island, Vanilla Lake and Ghost Valley, and are faithful recreations of the SNES track layouts.
Whereas Mario Kart World usually has players collect items by driving through floating Item Boxes, for the SNES tracks they’re instead obtained by driving over question block panels on the floor, as in the 16-bit original.
As well as the 10 new SNES tracks, the free update also adds two new routes to the popular Knockout Tour mode, titled Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally.
These join the Drill Rally and Boomerang Rally tours which were added to the game in July. There are still four blank spaces in this mode, implying more rallies are on the way.
This is the latest in a series of free updates for Mario Kart World. The last added an update to Photo Mode, which let players apply stickers they had collected in the game.
The game’s Switch predecessor Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also got a free Switch 2 update last week, adding an eight-player split-screen mode.
The Switch 2 update also included camera support, improved visuals and a new 96 Races option to VS Race, allowing players to play through every course in the game in one marathon GP.
