Leaked Battlefield 2042 mission rewards reveal Santa themed skins and decals
The rewards will be unlockable during the game’s preseason
A number of mission rewards for Battlefield 2042‘s preseason have leaked early.
The game’s third major update has been rolling out today, but some players reportedly also saw a glimpse of its upcoming mission rewards early, before they were quickly removed.
According to the Battlefield Bulletin Twitter account, which shared images of some of the rewards, a number of them will be Christmas themed.
These include a Santa skin called Father Winter, a helicopter camo called Little Blitzen and a tank camo called Big Nic.
The items are unlocked as mission rewards throughout various weeks of Battlefield 2042’s preseason, which has just started.
The festive tank skin, for example, is unlocked during preseason week 2, while the Santa skin is unlocked during week 3.
Battlefield 2042’s biggest update yet released today. The game’s third major update includes over 300 fixes alongside balance changes and quality of life enhancements.
DICE said the update will deliver smoother gameplay by fixing spawning, visual glitching and collision issues.
Audio, rendering and interaction improvements are also included, as are fixes for weapons, vehicles and Specialists.
Other improvements should make it easier to customise loadouts and the Plus Menu, while UI elements during gameplay should be more visible due to reduced clutter.
Following the update’s release, DICE will start rolling out weekly missions (three per week) which players can complete to earn XP and unique cosmetic rewards.
Prior to the game’s release last month, DICE confirmed that Battlefield 2042 Season 1 won’t launch until 2022. Before then, it said it was planning to offer limited time modes in addition to weekly missions and rewards.
Fawzi Mesmar, who oversaw the Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront franchises as DICE’s head of design, left the company following 2042’s release, VGC revealed last week.
