Players in the UK and Australia can register now to take part in a closed beta of Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link.
The mobile game is set for release in 2024, but a Closed Beta Test will take part in the UK and Australia in the coming months.
However, players can submit their beta test application now on the Kingdom Hearts website to register their interest in being invited to the Closed Beta Test when it’s active.
According to Square Enix, the test will not give players an advantage, and saved player data from the test won’t carry over to the final release.
Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link is described by Square Enix as “a GPS-based action RPG for iOS and Android”.
Not a lot of information about the game is currently known, but a newly released trailer (seen above) shows players fighting Heartless in a variety of environments.
It also confirms some of the Disney characters who will assist the player, including Mickey, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, Woody, Aladdin, Rapunzel, Ariel, Tinkerbell, Simba and Baymax.
Rather than actually appearing on-screen to help the player, Disney character assists appear to be in the form of trophies which can be used during battles to give the player character special abilities.
The next main game in the series, Kingdom Hearts 4, was announced during a Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event in Tokyo last year.
While the game is seemingly still some way away – with no news yet on release date or platforms – a report in Famitsu did at least confirm that the game will be made in Unreal Engine 5.
