Heavily discounted PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X bundles have been spotted in Europe.

Dutch website Cool Blue is currently taking pre-orders for an Xbox Series X bundle, including a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, for €489, instead of the normal total price of €608.99 (as spotted by Twitter user MauroNL).

Amazon Germany has a similar pre-order up for a PlayStation 5 bundle – featuring the launch edition of the console, not the new ‘slim’ edition – also including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, priced at €499.99. The Amazon bundle is also listed on the Amazon UK site, but currently isn’t available to order.

Both bundles are set to be released on November 10, though the Xbox Series X listing being sold on Cool Blue appears to just be the standard console and a separate copy of the game, rather than an official bundle with bespoke packaging (as with the PS5).

It’s unclear whether this heavy discount is unique to these stores, or whether they’ve been listed early and are part of planned official temporary price cuts by Xbox and PlayStation as part of the upcoming Black Friday sales period.

The discounts haven’t been officially confirmed yet by either Microsoft, Sony or the retailers involved.

Last year, the Xbox Series X wasn’t particularly heavily discounted during Black Friday, with the best deal in the UK being £20 off.

However, the Xbox Series S did see significant discounts over Black Friday, including from Microsoft itself, with official price reductions of $50 in the US and £60 in the UK.

If there are Black Friday deals on the PS5, they will – at least in Europe – almost certainly involve the launch models of the console instead of the new ‘slim’ PS5 models, which are yet to have a release date in Europe.

The new PS5 models are set to release in the US this month, with a global rollout planned over the following months.

As such, deals like this newly reported PS5 bundle are likely designed to clear stock of the legacy version of the console to prepare for the arrival of the revised version.
