Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gets a new trailer, still set for a 2024 release
The new cinematic trailer shows more of the game’s story
Microsoft has released a new trailer for MachineGames‘ Indiana Jones title.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released later this year for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a Game Pass release on day one, but a firm release date has still yet to be confirmed.
As previously revealed when the game was originally announced in January, Indy will feature the likeness of Harrison Ford, but will be voiced by Troy Baker.
The new adventure, which will also star Tony Todd, takes place between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark (the first movie) and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (the third movie).
According to MachineGames, the game’s locations will range “from the hallowed halls of the Vatican and the arid deserts of Egypt to the lush and sunken temples of Sukhothai and the frigid peaks of the Himalayas”.
The game will mainly be played from a first-person viewpoint, but during cutscenes and certain movements (such as climbing) the camera will switch to a third-person view, so players can see Indy himself.
“When the game begins, Indiana is working at Marshall College”, senior narrative designer Edward Curtis-Sivess explained back in January. “He wakes up the middle of the night to the sounds of a break-in and rushes to confront the thief in the college museum.
“The mysterious giant of a man makes off with what seems to be a historically insignificant artifact, sparking Indiana’s curiosity. Following the trail, Indiana heads to the Vatican hoping to learn why this particular relic was stolen, and discovers things aren’t what they appear.”
“He starts pulling at the strings of a mystery,” adds cinematic producer Mitra Askhkan Far, “and it all unravels until he has no choice but to see it through to the end, whatever the end may be.”
