Guerrilla Games is recruiting for an open-world game, new job advertisements suggest.
The successful candidate will write “quest dialogue, systemic dialogue, story outlines and faction documents,” the job description reveals, as well as developing narrative designs for quests, gameplay activities and game features.
UPDATE 2, JUNE 11: Guerrilla Games has officially announced Horizon 2: Forbidden West for PlayStation 5.
2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn is Guerrilla’s only open-world title to date, following several instalments of the first-person shooter Killzone.
Horizon was an highly successful franchise debut for PlayStation, having sold over 10 million copies, so a sequel for PlayStation 5 could have been an easy pitch for the studio.
In March, Sony announced plans to launch the open-world post-apocalyptic title for PC this summer. It will mark the first time a major PlayStation exclusive game from a Sony-owned studio has been released for PC.
According to Guerrilla co-founder Hermen Hulst – who was recently promoted to head of PlayStation’s worldwide studios – Sony remains highly committed to the creation of story and character-based games.
“We are very committed to the types of games we’ve been making at Worldwide Studios for the last decade: big, spectacular experiences with story and characters at the core,” he told GI.biz. “We will keep making these games, because we love to make them.”
