Hogwarts Legacy has already topped Elden Ring’s lifetime sales in the UK
And it will reportedly surpass Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga by the end of this week
Sales of Hogwarts Legacy have already topped the lifetime sales of Elden Ring in the UK.
Warner’s game took just five weeks to outsell (digital and physical) last year’s fantasy blockbuster Elden Ring, which has gone on to sell 20 million copies since its release in February 2022.
Only FIFA 23, Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga outsold Elden Ring in the UK last year, and Hogwarts Legacy will also have surpassed sales of the Lego game by the end of this week, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
Hogwarts Legacy sold over 12 million copies and raked in $850 million in sales globally in the first two weeks following its release on February 10, making it publisher Warner’s biggest launch ever.
While US sales data has yet to be announced, the game enjoyed the largest European launch outside of the FIFA and Call of Duty series since October 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
According to a March 10 post on the game’s official Twitter account, Hogwarts Legacy players have logged over 406 million hours of playtime.
Following the latest in a number of delays, Hogwarts Legacy will be released for PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, and for Nintendo Switch on July 25.
Developer Avalanche Software recently claimed it currently has no plans to release Hogwarts Legacy DLC expansions.
