HBO The Last of Us episode 4 trailer teases the Hunters
Kathleen, a “ruthless” revolutionary played by Yellowjackets’ Melanie Lynskey, also features
HBO has released a preview trailer for the fourth episode of The Last of Us.
Viewable below, the teaser for the show’s next episode shows Joel and Ellie setting out on a car journey to find Joel’s brother Tommy.
In a scene inspired by the game’s Pittsburgh chapter, the pair run into a hostile group of survivors called the Hunters.
The trailer also introduces Kathleen, a “ruthless leader of a revolutionary movement in Kansas City”, who is played by Yellowjackets star Melanie Lynskey.
Following episode three which aired at the weekend, the fourth episode will premiere on Sunday at 9pm ET / Monday at 2am GMT.
Last week, HBO said it had renewed The Last of Us for a second season. The news came after the network said the show’s second episode had recorded the largest ever week two audience growth for an HBO original drama series.
Based on Naughty Dog’s hit PlayStation series, the adaptation stars Pedro Pascal as smuggler Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, a 14-year-old girl who might hold the cure to a deadly parasitic virus that has swept the globe.
The Last of Us is produced and written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann, who also co-wrote and directed the game series.

Over the course of nine episodes, the debut season will cover the events of The Last of Us, which was released at the tail end of the PS3 generation in 2013, and its downloadable expansion The Last of Us: Left Behind, which arrived the following year.
Last week, the first episode was made available for free on YouTube.
In a recent interview, Druckmann hinted that the show’s second season will cover The Last of Us Part 2, which debuted for PS4 in 2020, and that Naughty Dog may have plans for a third entry in the series.
