Gravity Rush film footage shown off at CES

The first footage of the currently in production Gravity Rush film has been shown.

Shared briefly as part of Sony‘s keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show, the clip shows a character leaping off a building, much like in the game.

A brief clip of an actor suspended in a harness while performing in a motion capture suit was also shown.

No release or plot details for the film have been given.

Gravity Rush debuted on the PlayStation Vita in 2012 where it became a cult hit. It would later receive a PS4 version and sequel. Developed by the now-defunct PlayStation Japan Studio, the games were received well critically but failed commercially.

The Gravity Rush film is said to be directed by Anna Mastro and written by Emily Jerome. Mastro is largely known for her work on music videos for artists such as Leona Lewis, Train, and The Pussycat Dolls.

Sony’s keynote also briefly mentioned the upcoming Legend of Zelda film, calling it “an amazing tale of adventure and discovery.” No further information on the film was provided.

Following years of speculation, Nintendo announced the Legend of Zelda movie in November.

It will be co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment and co-produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions.

Serving as producers are Shigeru Miyamoto, representative director and fellow of Nintendo, and veteran Hollywood producer Avi Arad, the former chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment.
