Grasshopper Manufacture is holding its first ever Direct next week

The studio has revealed what it’s been counting down to

Grasshopper Manufacture will be hosting its first ever ‘Direct’ presentation next week.

The No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned studio, led by Suda51, announced that the first Grasshopper Direct will take place on:

Japan – Thursday, June 15 at 13:00
UK – Thursday, June 15 at 05:00
EDT – Thursday, June 15 at 00:00 (midnight on June 14)
PDT – Wednesday, June 14 at 21:00

Earlier this week it was discovered that the studio had been counting down to this time, claiming that “something’s gonna happen” when the timer ran out.

It’s now clear that the timer was counting down to the Grasshopper Direct, rather than any one specific announcement.

One game that may make an appearance during the Grasshopper Direct is Shadows of the Damned Remastered, which was announced at the same time as the Direct.

Shadows of the Damned was released in June 2011 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and was a collaboration between Grasshopper’s Goichi Suda (aka Suda51) and Shinji Mikami.

Grasshopper Manufacture was acquired by Chinese publisher NetEase in October 2021, but hasn’t released any new games since then.

The studio’s last game was No More Heroes III, which was released on Switch in August 2021 before being ported to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC in October 2022.
