Gran Turismo 7’s next update adds a new track and six new cars
The update arrives at the end of July
The next major update for Gran Turismo has been detailed by Polyphony Digital.
The free July 2024 update will add one new track and six new cars. The update will also include new rims. The update is currently planned to release on Thursday, July 25.
The new track, Eiger Norwand, returns from Gran Turismo 6. Also included in the update will be compatibility for the game’s AI racer, Sophy, on the Nurburgring 24-hour race, and the Autodrome Lago Maggiore.
The new cars included in the update are:
- Ferrari 430 Scuderia (2007)
- BMW M3 (1997)
- Lambroghini Gallardo LP 560-4 (2008)
- Genesis Vision Gran Turismo
- Subaru Impreza Rally Car (1998)
- RUF RGT 4.2 (2016)
This is the latest in several free updates for the flagship Sony racer. The game has seen new cars and tracks consistently added to the game since its launch.
Late last year, Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi labelled Gran Turismo 7 a “success”.
“[Gran Turismo 7] has been a success, and we have been able to maintain a really high number of active users throughout the release,” he claimed. “That’s something very unique to Gran Turismo that other titles have not been able to see.”
The Gran Turismo franchise launched in 1997 and had topped 90 million sales as of November 2022, according to Sony.
Last December, Yamauchi said that a PC version of Gran Turismo 7 wasn’t in development, although he hadn’t ruled out releasing one at some point.
