Ghost of Tsushima celebrates birthday with God of War, Horizon outfits
Special Armour sets can be used in the Legends multiplayer mode
PlayStation’s Sucker Punch studio is celebrating the first anniversary of Ghost of Tsushima‘s release by reenabling special PlayStation-themed armour sets.
The four player outfits are inspired by PlayStation series God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Colossus and Bloodborne and can be used in the Legends multiplayer mode.
The armour was first added to the game in December and removed a month later.
“July 17 marks one year since the release of Ghost of Tsushima!” the studio wrote on Saturday. “For every fox you pet, every photo mode shot you shared, every standoff you completed, or any other way you joined us on this journey, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for an incredible year!”
Released in July 2020, Ghost of Tsushima centres around samurai Jin Sakai, the last surviving member of his clan, who must wage war against invading Mongols and free the island of Tsushima.
Sony recently announced Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, a PS5 and PS4 expanded game featuring a new story set on Iki Island, and PS5 exclusive features such as haptic feedback.

Director’s Cut will be released for PlayStation 5 ($69.99) and PlayStation 4 ($59.99) on August 20. Existing Ghost of Tsushima owners can upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS4 for $19.99, or upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS5 for $29.99.
The open-world action title sold through some 2.4 million copies globally in its first three days of sales, which marked a new record for an original IP launch for publisher Sony.
In March, Sony announced it had greenlit a live-action movie adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima, helmed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski. At the time, Sucker Punch claimed Ghost of Tsushima sales had topped 6.5 million units.
