Four new Pokémon confirmed for Pokémon Unite as Zeta Division wins final Championship

The Pokémon Company has announced that four new Pokémon will soon join Pokemon Unite.

Announced following the Pokémon Unite finals at the 2026 Pokémon, Morpeko, Toxtricity, Jolteon, and Flareon will soon join the game. The first two will launch in September, with the others slated for October. With the addition of Jolteon and Flareon, all Eeveelutions are now available in Pokémon Unite.

The announcement was met with cheers in the audience during Championship Sunday, which is being held in San Francisco’s Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors. You can watch the audience reaction to the announcement below.

Zeta Division won the final 3-1, after a dominant performance. They defeated European side Komai.

Pokémon Unite is one of the major titles that is contested as part of the competitive Pokémon scene, alongside Pokémon Go, the Pokémon Trading Card game, and the Pokémon Video Game Championships. It is being retired after 5 years. It is currently unknown if another game will replace Pokémon Unite in the lineup now that it is being retired from active competition.

Pokémon Unite was released on July 21 2021, for Nintendo Switch as a free-to-play title and recently launched on mobile devices with cross-play support.

Unite is a co-operative team battle game developed by Tencent’s Timi Studio, which also created Activision’s Call of Duty Mobile, and sees two teams of five battling for control of a game map, similar to many popular MOBA titles.

The game’s director, Masaaki Hoshino, also worked on Pokken Tournament and also directed Pokémon Champions.
