Forza Horizon 5‘s second expansion, has been announced, and it will have a rally theme.
Shown off during a live stream, Rally Adventure takes place “notionally north” of the original Mexico map, and will be released on March 29.
The expansion will feature an “entirely new system of deformable terrain,” in order to accurately simulate the weather and mud effects that are key to the rally experience.
“Drive purpose-built rally monsters and conquer the rugged Sierra Nueva,” reads the expansion’s official blurb. “Join three rally teams and attack Horizon’s most thrilling routes ever in Horizon Rally and Horizon Races.
“Feel the intensity of massive dust trails and deformable sand roads in 10 new cars and experience the bursting flames of anti-lag. Explore dramatic craters, an abandoned quarry, and an entirely smashable palm forest.”
The expansion is included in the Premium Add-Ons bundle, which also includes the game’s previous expansion.
The game’s first expansion was titled Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, and was released in July 2022. As the name implies, the expansion featured a new open world area themed on the Hot Wheels toy franchise, and included 10 new cars, including the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 and 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II.
VGC’s Forza Horizon 5 review called the racer “the first essential game of the generation”.
“This is the best Forza Horizon has ever been,” our review read. “Because of this, it’s among the best the racing genre has ever seen, and – as its predecessor accomplished before it – it’s easily one of the best games this generation has seen so far.”
