Final Fantasy VII Remake will be exclusive to PlayStation platforms for one year, according to the game’s updated box art.
The long-awaited title will be released exclusively for PS4 on March 3, 2020.
“PlayStation exclusive. Play first on PS4,” reads the game’s box art (below). “Timed exclusive until 3/3/21.”
Announced at E3 2015, Final Fantasy VII Remake is an episodic project that’s expected to span several releases.
Producer Yoshinori Kitase claimed in June the level of content being created for each Final Fantasy VII Remake title is comparable to that of a full game, and that he expects development of the second entry in the project to be “more efficient” than the first.
In late November, Final Fantasy VII Remake director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that work on the second game in the project was underway.
