Skyline Valley represents the multiplayer survival RPG’s first map expansion
The “first ever map expansion” for Fallout 76 is on its way with the the Skyline Valley update coming on June 12,.
The update was announced as part of the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024.
Skyline Valley is a new explorable region of the base Fallout 76 Appalachia map. You’re tasked with investigating an electrical storm, solving the mystery of Vault 63, and taking on The Lost: a new type of Ghoul.
“In Skyline Valley’s major expansion of the world map, you’ll cross the Savage Divide and travel to the southern reaches of Appalachia,” Xbox’s official description reads.
“This picturesque new region, Skyline Valley, introduces fresh locations to explore among the woodlands once known as Shenandoah National Park.
“Seek out Vault 63 and uncover its mysteries. Learn the truth about the Lost, the electric Ghouls that inhabit the Vault, and their enigmatic overseer, Hugo Stolz.
“You’ll chase storms in Skyline Valley’s new Public Event, Dangerous Pastimes, and fight new region bosses, a monumental trifecta of Robo-brains.”
Released back in 2018 to less-than-stellar reviews, the multiplayer Fallout title continues to receive large-scale updates. Skyline Valley will be the 19th.
Since its release, Fallout 76 has continued to attract players. On the back of the Fallout show on Amazon Prime Video, the game jumped to its all-time peak player count and became Europe’s best-selling game in April 2024.
