EA’s first WRC game will be out this November, it’s claimed
EA Sports WRC will also cost less than typical EA Sports games, according to a reliable leaker
EA‘s first game based on the World Rally Championship (WRC) will be released in November, according to a leaker.
The ever-reliable billbil-kun of Dealabs has revealed that the game, which will be called EA Sports WRC, will be released on November 3, 2023, with three days early access available to owners of its Champions Edition.
Codemasters secured the rights to the WRC licence back in 2020, agreeing to release an annual WRC game for five years, starting in 2023.
A year later, Codemasters was acquired by Electronic Arts, and the WRC licensing agreement came across with it.
It’s claimed that EA Sports WRC was originally planned for release in July 2023, before it was delayed until later in the year.
The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will be released in a Standard Edition and a Champions Edition, with the latter including the base game and five seasons’ worth of game expansions.
EA Play subscribers will reportedly also have a typical 10-hour trial, as well as the same three-day early access period offered to Champions Edition players.
One potentially surprising aspect of the game, according to billbil-kun, is the price. The game’s base edition will reportedly cost $49.99 / €49.99 / £44.99, which is notably less than the $69.99 / £69.99 EA charged for its latest Formula 1 game, F1 23.
