Dying Light: The Beast, a new standalone game, has been announced

Dying Light: The Beast has been announced from Techland.

The game will feature “20+ hours of content,” and feature Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the first Dying Light game, according to an announcement.

Techland also announced the return of voice actor Roger Craig Smith to his role of Kyle Crane. “Stepping back into Kyle Crane’s shoes feels like a reunion with an old friend,” Smith said. “And even though he’s gone through a terrible time, there’s still plenty of legendary hero left in him.”

“Dying Light: The Beast is a thrilling standalone zombie adventure set in a tightly-crafted rural region,” reads a description for the game. “Play as Kyle Crane, a legendary hero who breaks free after years of brutal experiments. Now, he must realize there’s more at stake than just revenge.”

According to Techland, the development of Dying Light: The Beast initially began as a story DLC for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. However, according to a press release, “After two years of work, its size and scope has changed so much that it evolved into a standalone, self-contained experience.”

Dying Light: The Beast will be available on both PC and current-gen and last-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The game will be free to players who own Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition, according to Techland.

Standalone pricing information is not currently available.
