Dragon’s Dogma update adds frame rate cap, ray tracing toggle options
However, Capcom says these features won’t significantly improve performance
Capcom has released an update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5 and PC, adding a frame rate cap option on consoles, improving DLSS quality, and more.
As promised, the PS5 version of the game now has an option to toggle motion blur and ray tracing on and off, as well as the option to set the game’s frame rate to either Variable (which it currently is), or to a 30fps cap.
However, Capcom notes that these options won’t significantly affect frame rate. “Improvements to frame rate are planned for future updates,” it says.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 previously had an uncapped frame rate only, which meant it could sometimes go under or over 30 frames per second, depending on the situation.
The patch also means players can also now start a new game when save data already exists, which was a popular complaint at launch.
Updates to Xbox Series X|S are planned in the next few days, according to Capcom. The full patch notes can be seen below.
