Digital-only Xbox Series X release date announced

Microsoft has announced the release date for the digital-only Xbox Series X, and two other console variants.

The white, disc-less 1TB console will be released on October 15, with select countries following on October 29. This console will be released alongside a white 1TB Xbox Series S and a special edition 2TB ‘Galaxy Black’ Xbox Series X with a disc tray.

The three consoles are currently available to pre-order now and according to Microsoft will be made available in “all currently supported Xbox hardware regions.”

“Experience the fastest, most powerful Xbox ever with Xbox Series X, now with a 2TB SSD in special edition Galaxy Black,” Xbox’s official description reads.

“Also meet the all-digital Xbox Series X, now in Robot White with a 1TB SSD. Immerse yourself with sharper characters, brighter worlds, and impossible details with true-to-life 4K gaming and sensationally smooth frame rates of up to 120 FPS with the visual pop of DirectX ray tracing.

“Experience the best value in gaming with Xbox Series S, now with a 1TB SSD in Robot White. Make the most of every gaming minute with Quick Resume, lightning-fast load times, and gameplay of up to 120 FPS.”
