Details of Warzone’s ‘new Cold War map’ have reportedly leaked
Location is said to include Black Ops Cold War’s Fireteam maps
Activision is reportedly set to launch a new Call of Duty Warzone map to coincide with the game’s first anniversary in March 2021.
According to ModernWarzone, the new location will be an 8×8 grid sized map. In comparison, the existing Verdansk map is 9×9, although only about 6.5×7 is playable.
In the same way that Verdansk is partially comprised of Modern Warfare’s Ground War maps, with the large multiplayer arenas stitched together, the new Warzone map is said to be a combination of Black Ops Cold War’s Fireteam maps.

Black Ops Cold War’s mid-season update is scheduled to launch this week, introducing a “massive” new Fireteam map called Sanatorium, among other features.
A lake featured in Sanatorium will reportedly be located in the middle of the new Warzone map, leading to speculation that swimming mechanics and water vehicles could be added at a later date (both featured in Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, Blackout).
Places of interest on the new Warzone map reportedly include Zoo, potentially based on the original Black Ops multiplayer map of the same name, and Weather Station, which ModernWarzone speculates could end up being the fan favourite multiplayer map Summit.
Weather Station is said to be closely located to an area called Ski Slopes, which is based on the Fireteam map Alpine.
VGC also understands that a large, Cold War-themed Warzone map revamp originally scheduled for release last year is currently in the works.
Warzone has attracted over 85 million players since its release in March 2020, according to Activision.
In related news, the publisher will be offering free access to Cold War’s Zombies mode for one week beginning on January 14.
